Our family had been leasing a home in Palm Beach Polo Club for the past several Winter Equestrian Festival seasons, and decided this year to purchase our own. We were able to buy the house we wanted, but it was completely unfurnished. Like many people, we forgot what it’s like to start from scratch in relatively unfamiliar surroundings, so we quickly decided to seek professional decorating help. Searching local web sites and asking around the Club for recommendations, we considered several decorators before settling on Lorrie Browne Interiors. Lorrie was very prepared from our first meeting on.
It was our desire to make this our “beach house” (even though we’re 14 miles from the beach), and Lorrie was able to take our preferences and blend them together to create exactly what we wanted. With us being in Tennessee, having her in Wellington to oversee the project was invaluable. While we gave her direction in broad terms, and collaborated on the furniture selections, we trusted her to choose most of the fabrics, rugs, window treatments, and many of the accessory items.
We could not be happier with the finished product. Lorrie’s financial training (MBA) made the accounting on such a large project one of the easiest parts. We have complete records and were able to stay on budget. Another asset she brings to a project is a great collection of picture framers, drapery and upholstery people, faux painters, electricians, and handy-men who help her create her vision. Whether we were doing a ground up installation like we did or just re-doing a room, we would certainly use Lorrie Browne Interiors and recommend her without reservation to others.

When we decided to build a house in the Palm Beach Polo Club and needed a designer, we interviewed several candidates. Lorrie Browne clearly distinguished herself during the interview process and we decided to engage her services later that same day. We knew that she would bring new ideas while listening to our desires. The house was Mediterranean inspired and we wanted a West Indies flavor for the colors and furnishings. This house is Arts and Crafts, inspired by the work of McKim, Mead and White — about as far from Mediterranean and West Indies as you can get! Again, Lorrie Browne did an outstanding job. We get compliments on the warmth and feel of the house constantly, which is extraordinary for a 10,500 square foot house! Again, this project was brought in by Lorrie within budget. She also did most of the work remotely. Lorrie is very conversant with using technology to facilitate communication, if that is desired by her clients.

We had the opportunity to work with Lorrie Browne over the past eighteen months where she helped us to turn my lovely house into a beautiful home for our family. After an extensive renovation, we were ready to take the next step. We wanted our home to be warm, inviting and informally elegant. We wanted the interior, to complement the warmth of the Spanish styled exterior. It has been great working with Lorrie Browne Interiors. Lorrie quickly recognized the type of interior design that would work for me. She did a super job of providing me with suitable options from which I could choose. It was very easy to decorate even from out-of-state as Lorrie kept in contact with e-mails and phone calls and sent me samples in the mail to review. She was wonderful at organizing, scheduling, and supervising the work that needed to be done, so I didn’t need to be there. I am very pleased with how everything turned out. Lorrie really helped to make my place a comfortable, beautiful home.
